Feb. 15th, 2008 02:01 pmThis is so awesome! I've just spent the last few minutes geeking out over this- the only surviving map of the cursus publicus: the Roman system of public roads. It's crazy fun. Only three cities are shown with special decoration: Rome, Constantinople, and Antioch. It looks so clear and well preserved- it's quite amazing. But the fun part is in trying to sort out where everything is.
That's definitely going into the teaching file! I stumbled on it while looking for reproductions of tabulae ceratae. Yes, everyone will love Latin class! ^_^ (or else).
Except that it's almost impossible to get one. -_- I might have to break down and make one myself. If I get desperate enough...
