Jun. 16th, 2018 11:43 pmI've been really busy around here for the last few days. I'm sorry to anyone who left comments or tried to get in touch- I hope to get caught up soon! There were a lot of stresors that hit and I just laid low for a time. Our landlord came over recently and FINALLY fixed our drains in the bathroom. But he was angry about the state of it. Basically with mom's long illness, and not being able to do much of anything because she was frankly a little psychotic, the place needs a good scrub of all the things. It's getting there but it's an uphill battle, especially if I'm depressed or otherwise sick.
Now mom's doing better. She's on another 6 weeks of 'wait and see' with the lower dose of her anti-psychotic meds so she's up and about, and... pestering me constantly. It's annoying but on the other hand, I'm glad to see her up and about because that means she's giving her bedsore time to heal properly, and hopefully won't get the poops again either.
So I'm just trying to take the rough with the smooth for now. Oh, and I read the new Warcraft novel and it was... Devastating. It was really good but, holy crap... As I said on Twitter, whenever I think about what's coming up for Anduin now, all I can think of is that tarot scene in Father Ted:
Reader: *turns over the Death card* Oh, that just means 'transition.' *turns over two more Death cards* ...This is really weird! There's only supposed to be one in each pack! D:
I was so distressed, the author- who follows me on Twitter- sent me a DM to see if I was alright and we had a little chat lol.
There's a lot of set up. I don't think some reviewers understand that these books are meant to lay hooks for in-game narratives, not be self-contained. We are introduced to a whole lot of Chekov's gun type characters and concepts here. Plus they've done some to appease those who did not like Anduin (I'm not sure how I feel about these things, tbh), as well as... embellishing some old lore.
