My flist is full of Tumblr folks joining add_me comms and I love it.

In other news... I'm making a sweater. I decided to take the plunge and make clothing that wasn't  a hat, scarf, or mittens. I bought five balls of a burgundy wool/acrylic blend. I'm working top down because I like the idea of being able to fit it as I go.  I don't like using actual patterns; I prefer learning a method that you can just apply to make things. That's what I did with my stockings made with the colours of the 4th Doctor's scarf... I found a method on a renaissance re-enactment board somewhere for making wool hose. Worked far better than any pattern I could find. ^_^

Anyway, it's the simplest design I could devise... It was surprisingly hard to find *simple* top-down crochet tops. Most things are all fancy lace stuff which looks very nice but isn't what I'm after for this project. I'm really hoping just to have something that actually fits me properly... I recently lost some weight, which is one reason, but the other is simply that it's hard to find clothes for my body type. My bust is a problem... Anything that fits up top is baggy below, and anything that fits below is too form-fitting or downright tight up top. (I can't tell you how many times I've had women in my family leer at me and say "what's wrong with that?!" or the like. ...ARUGH).

So I have a yoke finished, and the arm holes. Now I can just make The Big Tube, as I'm talling it. :D I shouldn't need to do any shaping on it if my math is correct...

I'll have to get on those pics I promised.

Oh, and my tea arrived. I was SO relieved... It makes a big difference; it really does.
