First, more evidence of the philosopher cat:
My cat, and my textbook for Linguistics:

My cat reading my linguistics textbook:

She has really good lips for a cat, so she might be wanting to take up Greek as well as Latin (she has been
chewing my Latin books. The rest of my books are completely untouched, but all of my Latin books bear a single tooth imprint from the feline scholar).
And now, the day (which was a few weeks ago) in pictures!

My Parnassus! Solar flare is real, and intentionally done in order to emphasise that this crappy ex-factory is the art school where all the creative goodness is supposed to burble in abundant flow. There is painting.

The walk back has trains and smokey things.

And sparrows! And squirrels. I took this picture because I don't think people from Nova Scotia realise how huge our squirrels are. These squirrels are sure to be plotting the overthrow of mankind.
And... from the Languages Dept. conference room... Greek verb chart! It has been up for months because the other language profs don't know what it is and are awed by it and it's mysteries. I spend rather a lot of time here, actually. It is actually nice with coffee, cookies, and books.

In other news, for the Howrse fans, I think I've finally realised that competing in open races is much more effective than trying to compete alongside 360+ inbred freak horses. Fleurette has completely maxed out her training but I couldn't get any wins until I started racing her against other breeds. The purse is more lucrative too. So, yay! I might actually be able to get my horses ready for breeding. Also, Calpurnia- the half-bred horse I bought by accident- has won her first competition. Good news! It means my plan to work on crossbred Connemaras is not doomed to failure after all.
