Making of I, Claudius!
Nov. 24th, 2007 11:55 amThe mini documentary from the British release of I, Claudius has been posted on Youtube! It's really rather fun. It's so funny how I still cringe at Sian's voice. She did such a good job at the 'smooth, soft' and evil that when she, herself, is just being nice and laughing, I think she has just killed someone. lol
Oh dear, and it sounds like Derek Jacobi had to seduce some executives in order to get the part of Claudius (which, ....did I hear him RIGHT? They wanted to offer to CHARLETON HESTON? YE GODS! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! That man has caused enough brain damage! And, I mean, really... All the Romans in I Claudius are Brits. You can't have Charleton Heston playing Claudius. No. *shudder*). Anyway, it was also cute when Sir Derek says how he was confused that they were offering him Claudius "but I'm supposed to be playing Hamlet- I don't want to play Claudius." "No, no, Claudius in I, Claudius, you fool!" And, then, he plays Claudius for Mr.Brannagh, of course. I also found a youtube clip of Sir Derek playing Claudius AND Hamlet. Actually, I'll post that too!
