Jan. 25th, 2008 04:24 pmThese are bloopers from an episode of Star Trek: New Voyages. New Voyages is a fan-produced television series based on the Original Star Trek. The scary thing is that the show looks just like the real thing- only with better special effects. o_O LOL Wee! The acting needs work, though, but I hear they are getting better now that they know that they can do it and people want to see the shows. Several people from the original show have actually joined in- including some of the actors. This episode guest stars Walter Koenig as a really old Ens. Chekov. He's not in this clip, sadly. But you can find the whole thing on YouTube. ^_^ Apparently, these clips made it into the initial broadcast of the episode. Fans saved them, and youtubed them before the show could be censored and re-edited.
The trailer for the episode with ... I forgot his name! The original Sulu? Anyway, the trailer for his episode is pretty hilarious. He's so obviously better at acting that you especially notice the amateur performances- it's charming, though. You know they're doing this because they love it, and I've seen far worse acting. But then there's the professional in the middle of it all. But the best... is the OMGDRAMATIC MUSIC!
Sulu: *is old and apparently regressed into some sort of tribal Chinese warrior*
Captain Kirk: Sulu... what was 30 years for you was only 30 seconds for us!

Music: DUN DUN DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I think I am with Anthony on this one- the Original show was fabulous in its campiness. The nice special effects are... nice. (The Enterprise can do "loop-de-loops" which has apparently caused some alarm... lol It's SPACE, and it's the Enterprise- it can do whatever it wants to! I mean, really... The NG Enterprise had a BABY for goodnessake!).
