I'm about to go to bed. I was planning on going out to the movies tonight but we had a late start so I decided to stay behind. There was nothing good playing at the Spring Garden Road theatre anyway. Sadiq and I watched Robin Hood instead. And I helped Tom fix his bike with an empty jar of raspberry jam. :D
I think I'm ready to go back now. I spent the entire day packing and cleaning- and sitting around. It will be good- oh, so good- to have regular meals again at the dinning hall! I'm so hungry at the present moment but I dare not eat anything. It turns out that the nice little bowl which I thought was left in the cupboard for us by the university was actually Jeremie's! In the awkwardness of the situation he had not told me for TWO WEEKS. I feel like such a jerk. Walking in there and taking his bowl. LOL Shame on me! Anyway, so I won't be having any more ramen. I have a bowl but it is not microwave safe. So it's oatmeal for me! Yay!
I read on the OSAP website that students pick up their remaining loan certificate in January- not March. Hmn. That would be very very good. Otherwise I might have to try tightrope walking for two months, using my credit cards to keep me going until the loan comes in.
So, I'm just plain hungry and sleepy. Bah. It looks like the Grad House is open tomorrow- and I see that my graduate student ID gets me a 10% discount! A-ha!
I also see, from poking around the Dal site, that there is a vacancy for an Office Assistant in Heath Services. $10.00 an hour for up to 18 hours. Casual. Just the thing for me. I can only work 6 more hours a week according to the English dept. But... the thing is that my work schedule piles up, leaving me with periods when I have no TA work to do. I might as well fill in some hours at the clinic. I don't mind working weekends if it helps to fill the financial gap. Once again, there's work I could do but I already have a job. $28 000 a year for an office job, for instance. They need several clerks to do some basic accounting, file mail and such. I took one of my OACs in Accounting (OAC= grade 13 credit. Back in my day, Ontario had 13 grades. It was a transition to University but the classes were at University standard. I think my other OACs were: English, English (writer's craft), Canadian Law, and Visual Art).
Anyway, lastly, I really want some fanfic... I want to read some fic and I want to write. I can't write for some reason. Or perhaps I just needed this time to shut my brain off before next semester? I'm afraid poor Jane has fallen victim to badfic now. Ever since that damn BBC production came out there have been a lot of badfic written by the legions of Toby!Rochester fans. Besides Jane Eyre, my other fandoms lend themselves very well to fic: Pirates of the Caribbean, the Scarlet Pimpernel, Horatio Hornblower, etc. All have fabulous characters and a lot of room for playing with plot and character. I came across a SP site which posted fic challenges and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to have a list that I could play with to revive my sleeping muse/ give him a work out. So, fire away! I think I'd prefer scenarios atm but anything would do. This includes word cues but I'd rather have more than that. I got bored with word cues in Writer's Craft. Anything from the most basic to the outrageous- keeping in mind that I am not a slashfic writer. *consoles

Oh, and any fandom will do. *swings a Joseph coat* The colours!

If that's not inspiration for snarkfic, I don't know what is.

Date: 2007-01-02 09:12 pm (UTC)Percy gives Chauvelin a present.
Now, don't throw any of your new popcorn at me yet. It was meant to be Christmas related, but it doesn't have to be. And I'm sure there are tons of mischievous things Percy could leave for Chauvelin. ^_^ Of course, there is a possibility that this little nugget doesn't inspire you in the slightest. And that's okay, I'll just put it back in my folder of ideas. :)
As for reading fanfic, I have a short PotC fic on my lj! I could send you the link if you're interested. :P
